sections of the Official Information Act:  
 
•  9(2)(a) – to protect the privacy of natural persons  
•  9(2)(b)(ii) – to protect information where the making available of the information would be 
likely unreasonably to prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied or is 
subject to the information 
•  9(c) – to avoid prejudice to measures protecting the health and safety of the public.  
 
The information you have requested is held in the Register of Compliance Certificates (the 
register) pursuant to the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017. 
Access to the information held in the Register is restricted to WorkSafe, approved persons, and 
compliance certifiers all of whom require access to the register to perform their roles.  
 
In making my decision, I have considered the public interest considerations in section 9(1) of the 
Official Information Act.
