I refer to your official information request below which was transferred to Te Kawa Mataaho Public
Service Commission from The Treasury on 17 October 2024:
“Please provide copies of costs (indicative costs) for the establishment of the Ministry for
Regulation”
Our response
Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission’s (the Commission) role in the establishment of the
Ministry for Regulation, was providing machinery of government advice and the recruitment of a Chief
Executive.
Machinery of government functions are undertaken by existing staff at the Commission as part of their
day-to-day functions, therefore no costs were incurred related to this function. Costs incurred by the
Commission with regards to the recruitment of the Chief Executive of the Ministry for Regulation was
$55,300.
