Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act, received on 4 October 2024. 
You requested: 
Please provide copies of the costs (including indicative costs) for: 
- establishing the department of school buildings
- establishment of the ministry for regulation (and initial 6 months operating costs)
- establishing the Ministry for disabled people, and costs associated with the transfer of
functions as recently announced by ministers
- costs for transfer of NEMA
I believe that the information you have requested is more closely connected with the functions of 
the following agencies, as specified below.  
• Costs for establishment of the Ministry for Regulation, transfer to Public Service
Commission.
• Costs in relation to first 6 months of cost for Ministry for Regulation (establishment and
operating), transfer to Ministry for Regulation.
• Costs for establishing the Ministry for disabled people, and costs associated with the
transfer of functions as recently announced by ministers, transfer to Whaikaha (Ministry of
Disabled People). 
• Costs for transfer of NEMA, transfer to Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Accordingly, I have decided under section 14(b)(ii) of the Official Information Act to transfer 
respective parts of your request to the Public Service Commission, the Ministry for Regulation, 
Whaikaha – Ministry for Disabled People and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. 
Ordinarily, I would transfer the part of your request for the costs associated with establishing the 
department of school buildings, to the Minister of Education, Hon Erica Stanford as it is more 
closely related to her functions. I have not done so on this occasion, as we are aware that she 
has already received the same request. 
The agencies listed above have 20 working days from receipt of this transfer to make a decision 
on your request.
