The information you requested – CAS-992245-V5F4X3
Thank you for your request for information dated 10 October 2024 about future development
plans for Greys Avenue carpark site as outlined in the Aotea Quarter Framework.
Please find our response below.
1. Are there any plans to keep the Greys Avenue car park site closed after the
completion of the midtown wastewater diversion project in 2026, rather than
reopening it as a car park (I assume that traffic will have adapted to the closure
during this time)?
Auckland Transport (AT) plans to reopen the carpark after the midtown wastewater division
project in 2026.
2. What specific plans or developments have been made to develop this land in line
with the Aotea Quarter Framework, especially with the opening of the City Rail Link
(CRL, which will be occurring while the car park is closed)?
The Aotea Quarter Framework is an Auckland Council led framework. Therefore, this part of
your request is refused under section 17(g) of the LGOIMA as we believe Auckland Council
holds the information you seek.
Auckland Council are aware of your request and will respond to you as soon as they can.
3. Has the Council conducted any studies or assessments on how the closure of this
car park during the wastewater diversion project might impact future development
plans for the site (such as potential development opening prior to or in line with the
CRL)?
AT are looking after the operational aspects of the wastewater diversion project. A review of
future development impacts is being considered by Auckland Council. Therefore, this part of
your request is refused under section 17(g) of the LGOIMA as we believe Auckland Council
holds the information you seek. Auckland Council are aware of your request and will respond
to you as soon as they can.

the CBD (due to increased public transport options like the CRL) with the
development goals outlined in the Aotea Quarter Framework?
The Aotea Quarter Framework is an Auckland Council led framework. Therefore, this part of
your request is refused under section 17(g) of the LGOIMA as we believe Auckland Council
