[FYI request #28633 email]
Dear P Robins
Thank you for your request of 3 October 2024 to Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities, for the
following information under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act):
“I am writing to request copies of the sections titled "5. Upcoming advice to be delivered in the next
month" and "8. Upcoming completed homes opportunities" from the weekly reports issued in May
and June. While I understand these reports have been proactively released, I believe that the redactions may
warrant reconsideration due to the time elapsed since their initial release.” On 1 November 2024, Kāinga Ora wrote to you extending the timeframe for its response under
section 15A(1)(b) of the Act, as
‘consultations necessary to make a decision on the request
are such that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the original time
limit’. On 29 November 2024, we wrote to you again, advising that Kāinga Ora had made its decision
under the Act to provide you with the information requested, but that more time was needed to
prepare the material for release.
Please find at ached section five of the Weekly Report for the following dates:
• 3 May 2024
• 10 May 2024
• 24 May 2024
• 31 May 2024
• 7 June 2024
• 14 June 2024
• 21 June 2024

Some information, including addresses, is considered personal information. The developments
listed in section 8 of the Weekly Reports are tenanted or have been linked to tenants, and
therefore I am withholding these sections under section 9(2)(a) of the Act
“to protect the privacy of
natural persons”. In making my decision, I have considered the public interest pursuant to section
9(1) of the Act. I do not consider the withholding of the information from this response is
outweighed by public interest considerations in making that information available.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. There
is Information about how to make a complaint at
https:/ www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or by
freephone on 0800 802 602.
Please note that Kāinga Ora proactively releases its responses to official information requests
where possible. Our response to your request may be published at
