[FYI request #28576 email] Dear Michael,
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) on 29 September 2024 to the Prime
Minister Rt Honourable Christopher Luxon requesting:
I request all communications regarding the Prime Minister and Minister for Sport and
Recreation’s attendance at the Al Blacks vs Australia test match.
I also request any costs incurred for the visit.
As you are aware, on 7 October the Prime Minister’s Office transferred the part of your
request relating to my attendance at the match to my office for response. Please find
attached as appendix one all correspondence from my office regarding my attendance at the
All Blacks v Australia test match.
Some information has been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the OIA to protect the privacy
of natural persons. In accordance with section 9(1) of the OIA, I have considered whether
there are countervailing public interests in favour of releasing this information. I do not
believe such considerations exist in this instance.
Further information has been withheld as ‘outside of scope’ as it does not relate to my
attendance at the match.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
