Thank you for your email of 21 September 2024 to the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) 
requesting the following information:  
Please provide a copy of all seismic reports commissioned by the Ministry on Wellington 
East Girls College over the period 2016 to 2020. And advise, who ie Manager 
commissioned them , who carried out the work and what they cost. 
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).  
The Ministry has identified three Detailed Seismic Assessments and one Structural Condition 
Survey that were commissioned by a Ministry Project Delivery Manager in 2016 ahead of seismic 
strengthening and weathertightness works for buildings at Wellington East Girl’s College. The cost 
of these reports was $30,000 total (GST-exclusive) to complete the three detailed seismic 
assessments and $4,500 (GST-exclusive) for the one structural condition survey.  
Please find these four documents attached as Appendix A and as outlined in the Appendix A 
Document Table. Some information has been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Act, to protect 
the privacy of natural persons.  
As required under section 9(1) of the Act, I have considered the public interest in releasing the 
information withheld. I do not consider the public interest considerations favouring the release of 
this information are sufficient to outweigh the need to withhold it at this time.
