Official Information Act request relating to Gisborne Streets for People project 
consultation. 
 
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act (the Act), received on 13 
September 2024. You requested: 
 
1. Were Gisborne emergency services such as Police, Fire Department, Ambulance 
station and Civil Defense consulted about the Streets for People project on Grey 
Street, Gisborne and can i please have all information relating to that?.

2. Are Civil Defense aware and were they consulted that a Gisborne Orange zoned 
tsunami evacuation route that runs down Kahutia Street and continues through Grey 
Street is now blocked off because of the Grey Street, Gisborne Streets for People 
project?.

I believe the information you have requested is more closely connected with the functions of 
the  Gisborne  District  Council.  Accordingly,  I  have  decided  to  transfer  your  request  to  the 
Gisborne District Council under section 14(b)(ii) of the Act. 
 
The  Gisborne  District  Council  has  the  usual  timeframes  under  the  Act  from  receipt  of  this 
transfer to make a decision on your request.
