I refer to the Official Information Act (the Act) request dated 2 September 2024 for information relating to 
Executive Deans of the Faculty of Law at the University of Canterbury (UC). You have specifical y requested. 
 
Can I request the names and dates of their tenure, for the Executive Deans of the UC Faculty of Law going back 
as far as possible, preferably back to 1873. 
 
The role of Amo Matua I Executive Dean of the Faculty of Law has been held by three individuals. Professor 
John Page from 9 January 2022 to 28 April 2023. Professor Karen Scott was the Acting Executive Director from 
1 May 2023 to 2 February 2024.  Professor Petra Butler is the incumbent Amo Matua I Executive Dean and has 
been in the role from 5 February 2024.
