On  23  August  2024  you  asked  for  information  about  Links  Ave  expenditure.  Here  is  our
response to your questions:
Please  provide  me  with  total  expenditures  on  Links  Ave,  Omanu  "safety"
upgrades. That is, prior to the first trial in 2022 through to today. Please break it
down by the stages of the upgrades.

Please find below a table outlining costs to date and estimated final cost, FY denotes
the financial year of 1 July to 30 June:

  The  pre  and  trial  set  up  costs  encompass  all  expenses  related  to  the
preparation  and  implementation  of  the  trial,  including  a  range  of  essential
activities.  These  costs  cover  the  pre-evaluation  phase  and  planning  and
engineering  design  work,  along  with  the  creation  of  detailed  plans  and
drawings.  Expenses  also  include  the  removal  of  existing  bus  lanes,  road
marking and signage, installation of mini roundabout together with the painting
of  line  markings  and the installation of new or  modified  traffic  signs.  Finally,
setting  up  the  trial  involves  the  installation  of  temporary  infrastructure  and
equipment, as well as initial testing and adjustments to ensure the trial operates
smoothly.
  Phase  1  involved  the  initial  implementation  of  key  elements  from  the  plan,
including  the  installation  of  speed  tables  at  various  locations  along  Links
Avenue,  the  application  of  30km/h  speed  limit  markings  and  signs,  and  the
driver speed feedback signs.
  Phase 2 encompassed comprehensive design work and the full implementation
of the final design. This phase included extensive community consultation on

the  proposals,  modifications  to  the  Spur  Avenue  intersection,  and  the
installation  of  pedestrian  crossings,  lighting,  planting,  signage,  and  marking,
bus stop relocations and rationalisation.   Upgrades to signage were made to
highlight  the  operational  status  of  the  cul-de-sac,  including  the  addition  of
camera equipment.
  Some further work may be required to finalise the project, with an estimated
cost between $7,000 and $10,000.
  The costs outlined above received 51% NZTA funding contribution.
  The costs above exclude the road rehabilitation and maintenance of the road
that was co-ordinated with the work outlined above. This work was required
irrespective due to road pavement failure. The cost of that work was
$3,069,603.
Additionally I would like to know the total cost of installing one of those vehicle
digital speed readers.

The cost was $13,670.37 each including installation.
