May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for public 
nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many applications you have received from the 
public and how many you have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry 
of women etc for your role. How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed.  
 
Please see the following response to your request: 
 
Ms Charles is a cross appointment from Australia to the New Zealand Takeovers Panel, and the 
recruitment of her was undertaken by the Australian Government. Consequentially, we hold no 
information on their process.  
 
As a result, MBIE did not call for any public nominations, and therefore did not use any platforms to do 
so. There were no applications received from the public or from nominating agencies. Furthermore, no 
candidates were shortlisted or interviewed by MBIE, therefore this part of your request is refused under 
section 18(e) of the Act, as the information does not exist.
