Response to your request for official information
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of
Health – Manatū Hauora (the Ministry) on 14 August 2024 for information regarding the process
for appointment to the Ethics Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ECART).
Please find a response to each part of your request below.
May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for
public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website.
The roles on ECART were publicly advertised on the Ministry’s Careers webpage and the New
Zealand Government Jobs website from 23 July 2024 to 11 August 2024.
Also, how many applications you have received from the public and how many you have
received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for your
role.
The Ministry received 43 applications from the public. Since the commencement of the
recruitment process, two have withdrawn from the candidate selection process. Nominations
were also sought from a variety of nominating agencies and seven were received from
Whaikaha – Ministry of Disabled People.
How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed.
Candidates are yet to be shortlisted and interviewed.
When you expect the process wil concluded.
The appointments process takes between 6 and 12 months to complete. It is estimated that the
ECART appointments wil be completed in early 2024. However, this is subject to change.
