Dear Benjamin
Official Information Act request OIA 24.131 MATH199 grades
I refer to the Official Information Act request dated 12 August 2024 for information relating to MATH199.at
the University of Canterbury (UC). You have specifical y requested:
•
I request the number of students taking the AIMS MATH199 STAR course each year. Out of these, how
many began study at the University of Canterbury the fol owing year(s).
•
I request the number of students who received an A+ grade in the course each year, and out of those
how many began study at the University with MATH199 AIMS scholarships each year.
•
I request the number of students who began study at the University with MATH199 STAR scholarships,
and what the average grade % of the recipients were, each year.
The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the
day we received your request. Unfortunately, it wil not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our decision, to Friday 20 September 2024.
This extension is required because consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are such that a
proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit. This is due to a high volume of
requests at this time.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about
how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
Yours sincerely
