Please find the information below in response to your OIA request of 29 July. Please note this 
includes named architecture programmes and covers our history since becoming a university. 
 
 
•  When did AUT start recording ethnicity regarding Architecture admissions 
 
AUT was established as a university in 2000 and we began offering our first Architecture programme 
(the Bachelor of Architecture and Future Environments) in 2020. We have subsequently added further 
named Architecture programmes (e.g., Graduate Diploma in Architecture, Master of Architecture 
(Professional) and Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture). 
 
We have been recording the ethnicity of our students since wel  before our Architecture programmes 
were introduced. 
 
 
•  Total admissions into any AUT Architecture programme since the tertiary institute was 
established, Sorted by year. 
 
The number of students (headcount) starting any named Architecture programme is shown below 
(with full year data for all past years, and year to date data for 2024). We have counted new intake 
students only and not students returning for the subsequent years of their programme.
