We refer to your emails of 22 July 2024 in which you request the following under the Official
Information Act 1982 (OIA):
Please provide all emails sent to and from MFAT staff member Rob Taylor in his role as head of
corporate services regarding internal media leaks from Jan 2024 to 22 July 2024.
Specifically the number who were advised they were under investigation, the number of devices
taken from staff as part of investigations, and any disciplinary outcomes over this period
against staff.
Please provide all third party contractor costs from 1 Jan 2024 to 22 July 2024 in relation to
investigating internal media leaks from MFAT.
For security reasons, the Ministry will not disclose information regarding its internal processes for
investigating media leaks.
The information relevant to your request is withheld in full under the following sections of the
OIA:

6(a): to avoid prejudicing the security or defence of New Zealand or the international
relations of the New Zealand Government; and,
•
6(c): to prejudice the maintenance of the law, including the prevention, investigation, and
detection of offences, and the right to a fair trial.
