Thank you for your request to the Department of Conservation, received on 21 July 2024, in
which you asked for:
…
a copy of the agenda packs for all of the Board's meetings held to date during
2024. I would also like to request a copy of presentations shown/given to the Board,
which may also be referred to in any agenda packs or minutes. In addition, I would
appreciate a copy of the same for the Board's subcommittees.
Your request is in relation to the Nelson Marlborough Conservation Board. We have
considered your request under the Official Information Act 1982.
Your questions and our responses are listed below:

Copy of the agenda packs for all of the Board's meetings held to date during 2024.
Response:
The Nelson Marlborough Conservation Board held three meetings from January to July
2024: 2 February, 18 March and 6 June. The agenda and papers for Conservation Board
meetings are public information, and can be obtained via the following web links:

The Minutes of the February 2024 meeting refer to a presentation by Shane Graham of
Ngāti Rārua (in the heading of item 11 in the meeting minutes). This was a verbal
presentation.

Copy of the same for the Board's subcommittees.
Response:
The Board has two subcommittees which met between 1 January 2024 and 21 June
2024.
The Board’s Iwi Komiti met on 30 January 2024, 7 March 2024 and 7 May 2024. Minutes
from those meetings are in Table 1 – Schedule of documents (items 5 to 7). The Iwi
Komiti meeting on 9 July 2024 was cancelled as only one member was able to attend.
The Board’s Permissions Committee met on 11 June 2024 to review the Board’s
permissions consultation triggers. The following documents were provided to the
committee prior to this discussion:

Committee in December 2020)
• Permissions info for meeting with Permissions Committee, June 2024
• Presentation for NMCB Permission Committee March 2023
No minutes were taken at the 11 June 2024 Permissions Committee meeting. Changes
were discussed and agreed to the NMCB triggers for consultation on permissions and a
revised version of the document was provided to the Committee on 11 June 2024.

I have decided to release the relevant parts of Item 10, subject to information being withheld
under the following section of the Official Information Act:
• personal details, under section 9(2)(a) – to protect the privacy of natural persons,
including deceased people.
In making my decision, I have considered the public interest considerations in section 9(1) of
the Official Information Act and determined there are no public interests that outweigh the
grounds for withholding.

Ombudsman as provided by section 28(3) of the Official Information Act.
