Official Information Act request: Proceeds of Crime Fund
Thank you for your email of 12 July 2024, requesting under the Official Information Act 1982
(the Act) information regarding the use of Proceeds of Crime Fund (the Fund). Specifically,
you requested:
I note Paul Goldsmith announced on July 12, 2024 the appointment of a new advisory
group headed by Sunny Kaushal.

on-retail-crime
I note the group is funded predominately from the Proceeds of Crime
Fund. Please provide me with documents relating to the application for funding for the
group.
Please note, there is no application for funding for this Ministerial Advisory Group. In
accordance with the Fund’s criteria, Cabinet can draw from it to support urgent justice
requirements to address crime related harm to communities and improve community
wellbeing and this can be done in the form of a cabinet paper. Therefore, your request is
refused under section 18(e) of the Act as the information does not exist.
If you require any further information, please contact Media & Social Media Manager Joe
Locke at [email address]
