Response to your request for official information
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of
Health – Manatū Hauora (the Ministry) on 11 July 2024. You requested:
I am after a copy of a report that is mentioned in the "Science and Insights" publication
with the title "Covid-19 Delta Variant Secondary attack rates August-October 2021", "IT-4"
dated 19 October 2021.
I am unable to locate this "vaccine effectiveness" report on your website. Would you kindly
share a copy of this 2021 "vaccine effectiveness" report which uses the data from The
National Contact Tracing Solution (NCTS)?
The Ministry can confirm that the vaccine effectiveness report you refer to does not exist and
was not performed as it was not a priority at the time. There is no requirement under the Of icial
Information Act 1982 (the Act) for agencies to create new information, provide an opinion or
compile information that is not part of the usual reporting process. As such, your request for this
information is therefore refused under section 18(e) of the Act.
