Thank you for your Official Information Act request, received on 24 June 2024. You
requested the following:
- Can you please confirm the total number of staff proposed to be cut from
Treasury?
- Have they all been through attrition? If not, how were roles selected for
disestablishment?
- What is the cost-saving from the cut roles?
- Please provide a breakdown of job title (or type), and the salary range for each
role
- Please provide all advice given to the Minister on cost-saving measures at The

Can you please confirm the total number of staff proposed to be cut from
Treasury?
The Treasury has not proposed to cut any staff.
Have they all been through attrition? If not, how were roles selected for
disestablishment?
The Treasury undertook a managed reduction in headcount. Our plan focussed on
reducing FTE numbers by removing vacancies, reducing the number of fixed term roles
as contracts come to an end, and attrition.
What is the cost-saving from the cut roles?
The Treasury targeted a cost reduction of $4,700,000 from the removal of vacancies,
reduction in the number of fixed term roles as contracts come to an end, and attrition.
Please provide a breakdown of job title (or type), and the salary range for each
role.
We do not have a list of cut roles.
