Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 23 June 2024. You
requested:
Does the extra 500 Police make al owance for the Police leaving the force.
What is the total number of Police in NZ before the extra 500 was confirmed.
Yes, the 500 refers to the increase in the overal number of constables that wil be
available to Police.
On 27 November 2023 there were 10,211 full-time equivalent (FTE) constables in Police.
This number wil increase to 10,711.
