Re: Campground licences
I refer to your email, which we received on 11 June 2024, requesting information about
campground licences.
Your specific request and our response are below.
Could you kindly provide a list of all camping grounds which Council has issued a
camping ground licence in the past 3 years in accordance with the Camping Ground
Regulations 1985.
Please include relevant addresses for each camping ground, name of the licensees
and identify if any camping grounds are operated by Council or subject to a lease with
Council or land administered by Council under the Reserves Management Act.
Please find attached information pertaining to your request for a list of al camping grounds
which Council has issued a camping ground licence for in accordance with the Camping
Ground Regulations 1985. With respect to identifying any camping grounds operated by
Council or subject to a lease with Council or land administered by Council under the
Reserves Act 1977 -
The camping grounds run by Auckland Council on land owned by Auckland Council are: -
Orewa Beach Holiday Park
Whangateau Holiday Park
Martins Bay Holiday Park
Camping grounds that are on Auckland Council land and currently have a lease
arrangement with Auckland Council are: -
Sandspit Holiday Park
Piha Domain Motor Camp
Kaipatiki Campground
Kauri Property Management Limited
Clarks Beach Holiday Park
Wharerihi Campground

Our Licensing and Compliance department have provided the attached information, a Copy
of Camping Grounds.
In relation to the campground occupancies (leases) within, our Parks and Community
Facilities department have provided the attached table (Attachment A):
Decisions relating to the information that is being released to you were made by Mervyn
Chetty, Manager Licensing and Environmental Health and Taryn Crewe, General Manager
Parks and Community Facilities.
