Aotearoa, requesting an updated list of contact details for senior Corrections managers.
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA).
You requested:
I am writing to request the latest contact information, including names, professional
e-mail addresses and phone numbers, for the fol owing Corrections roles:
- Prison Directors
- Deputy Prison Directors
- Regional Commissioners
- National Commissioners
- Health Department
On 1 April 2024, Corrections transitioned into our new structure as part of The Pathway
Forward: Te Ara Whakamua, a process of organisational change designed to grow our
capability, enhance how we deliver our services, and to support us to deliver on our
aspirations for a more effective and efficient Corrections system.
As part of this process, some of the roles you have requested information for were
renamed. These include job title changes from Prison Director to General Manager, Deputy
Prison Director to Deputy General Manager, and National Commissioner to Commissioner
Custodial Services. Parts of the then-National Commissioner’s responsibilities have also
transferred to a new role, Deputy Chief Executive Communities Partnerships and Pathways.
Regional Commissioner roles have been disestablished and General Managers of prisons
now report to one of three new Deputy Commissioner roles. The parameters of your
request have been adjusted accordingly.

Please see the information you have requested attached as Appendix One, which consists of
the name, role, email, and site phone number for each prison’s General Manager and
Deputy General Manager (some prisons do not currently have a Deputy General Manager),
the Commissioner Custodial Services and Deputy Commissioners. For completeness we have
also included details for the Deputy Chief Executive Communities Partnerships and
Pathways.
Please note, this information is current as at 1 July 2024. This list would be subject to change
frequently due to staff moving into different roles and because at any one time some people
wil be acting for managers while they are on leave or secondment. Please also note that
Auckland South Corrections Facility is managed by Serco, not Corrections, and continues to
have Prison Director and Deputy Prison Director positions, which are provided.
There are a variety of health staff who work across both Corrections’ National Office and in
prisons. Within the context of your wider request, your request for details of the ‘Health
Department’ has been interpreted to relate to the Deputy Chief Executive Pae Ora, who is
based at National Office. The Deputy Chief Executive Pae Ora details are also included in
Appendix One.
