Overview
Summary of the current event
• Port Waikato by-election – overseas voting and advance voting have commenced.
• Preparation for election day, 25 November

• All going well
• Voting materials have been delivered to voting places, except for 5 voting places.
• No request from scrutineers have been received yet.
• There are a few cases of C19, and the standby list for staff have been utilised. Currently short of Voting
Place Managers as back up support. Will reach out to other electorates for assistance if required.
• Issue with motorway off and onramp access – there may be impact on transporting materials
• The counts will take place at voting places tomorrow. All advance votes should be back at HQs by
tonight.
• Tomorrow, after the count ballot boxes will be dropped off at 3 hubs.
• Votes have dropped significantly this week, hard to predict turnout for tomorrow.

• To date: Downloaded Voting Papers = 92. Uploaded Voting Papers = 49

• General Election – E9 reports versus the official results website party percentage mismatch, decision has
been made to address long term solution post By Election and for Comms to put the explanation on the
Website.

• Blair is Regional Security and Resilience Advisor on duty for by-election tomorrow.
• Sarah on-call for any issues or incidents that need escalating.
