Official Information Act request relating to Travel information Christchurch Call
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on 6 June 2024.
You requested:
“Please provide the following information relating to the Christchurch Cal :
1. Dates, location, purpose of travel of all most significant travel associated with the
Christchurch Call for all personnel associated with Christchurch Call including Special
Envoy.
2. Total costs for each financial year associated with travel.
3. If there is any future travel planned, breakdown of the estimated cost (budget) for
those itineraries.”
As advised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) on 6 June 2024, your
request was partially transferred to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet
(DPMC) to respond to elements of your request relating to travel paid for by DPMC.
Question 1
DPMC has provided below a breakdown of the most significant travel associated with the
Christchurch Call, including dates, location and purpose:
• Travel by DPMC staff to attend the first Christchurch Call Leaders’ Summit in Paris in
May 2019.
• Travel by DPMC staff to attend the second Christchurch Call Leaders’ Summit in New
York in September 2019.
• Travel by DPMC staff to attend the fourth Christchurch Call Leaders’ Summit in New
York in September 2022.
• Travel by DPMC staff to attend the fifth Christchurch Call Leaders’ Summit in Paris in
November 2023.
Question 2
The following table provides the total DPMC costs for travel associated with the Christchurch
Call for each financial year.

Question 3
At the time of your request, there was no future travel planned. Therefore, I am refusing to
respond to question three as the information does not exist. This decision has been made
under section 18(e) of the Act.

section 28(3) of the Act.
