Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 23 May 2024. You 
requested: 
1. How many infringement offences did the NZ Police Issue under this act or any
order under this act?
2 How many of these offences have been paid from offenders?
3. how many have gone on to the MoJ for collection?
4. How much money has been collected to date?
5. How much money has not been successfully collected and sent on to the MoJ
for such infringements of the Vaccination Order 2021?
Police has not issued any infringements under the COVID-19 Public Health Response 
(Vaccinations) Order 2021. I have interpreted your questions to include infringements 
under the parent act, being the COVID-19 Public Health Response Act 2020. That Act 
contains a range of infringements under various orders. 
1. How many infringement offences did the NZ Police Issue under this act or any
order under this act?
5,147 infringements were issued under the various Orders made under the COVID-19 
Public Health Response Act 2020. 
2. How many of these offences have been paid from offenders?
1,058 infringements have been paid. 
3. How many have gone on to the MoJ for collection?
3,870 infringements have gone on to the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) for collection. The 
balance has been either waived or sent directly to MoJ for a Defended Hearing. 
4. How much money has been collected to date?
$320,400 was collected through payment of infringements. However, Police does not hold 
information on payments made on matters that have gone on to MoJ for collection.

5. How much money has not been successfully collected and sent on to the MoJ 
for such infringements of the Vaccination Order 2021? 
 
Police advises that $1,211,500 has not been collected across all infringements. As 
referred to in the response to question one, Police has not issued any infringements 
under the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021.
