Thank you for your email of 23 May 2024, requesting the fol owing information from Ara ǀ Te Pūkenga
– New Zealand Institute of Skil s and Technology (Ara):
- Data on the geographical location of students accepted to the Ara Bachelor of Musculoskeletal
Health Degree course organized by year from the year of the programme's inception, which I believe
is from the academic year 2018 to the current intake of 2024.
- Data on the student completion rate (graduation) by intake year of the PGDip Osteopathy from it's
first cohort completion which I believe to be 2021 to cohort year 2023.
This letter provides a formal decision on your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA).
The decision
The information you have requested is attached at
Appendix One. In some cases, providing the exact
breakdown you have requested yields results of less than four ākonga or kaimahi. Where this is the
case, we have withheld the exact numbers with reliance on section 9(2)(a) of the OIA, to protect the
privacy of natural persons, and have not provided al totals in order to reduce the ability to determine
the exact count. We do not believe the need to withhold this information is outweighed by the public
interest in its release.
You have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman under section 28(3) of the OIA if you are
not happy with this response. Information about how to do this is available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or by cal ing 0800 802 602.
We may publish our OIA responses and the information contained in our reply to you on our website.
