Re: Rates revenue and roading expenditure 
 
I refer to your email, which we received on 7 May 2015, requesting information about rates 
revenue and roading expenditure for the Kaipara Hills and feeder roads. 
 
In response to your request for information regarding expenditure on the roads specified, a 
sheet with this information is provided as an attachment to this letter.  
 
We have considered your request regarding rates revenue for all properties within the area 
however, in order to extract and aggregate the data for the area for the last three years 
requested we would be required to write a specific script. We estimate that this would take 
approximately 10 hours of staff time to produce. As we cannot produce this without 
substantial effort in research we are refusing this part of your request under s17(f) of the Act. 
If you would like us to proceed please contact us and we can prepare a quote as per our 
charging policy. 
 
Alternatively, I would like to refer you to the Auckland Council GIS viewer or Property search 
which provide rates information on a property by property basis for the current (2014/15) 
rating year. 
 
You have the right in accordance with section 27(3) of the LGOIMA to make a complaint to 
the Office of the Ombudsmen regarding Auckland Council’s refusal to release any 
information under this letter and for the delay in getting this response to you.
