Thank you for your request of 17 May 2024, to Fire and Emergency New Zealand requesting the
following information relating to our fleet under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA):
1. an updated cascade list for Type 1, 2, Rural Pumps, Tankers and any other vehicles such as
USAR, including any additional procurement information.
2. a cascade list for new Type 3 MAN and Scania appliances, including those trialled.
3. an updated Station Tier List for Tier 1, 2 and 3 brigades as this has not been updated for
several years.
4. an updated list for the busiest stations both volunteer and career, for the last 12 months or
5 year average
This letter is to advise that Fire and Emergency needs to extend the timeframe of our response to
your request by 10 working days, pursuant to section 15A(1)(b) of the OIA, as consultations
necessary to make a decision on the request are such that a proper response to the request
cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.
For this reason, you can expect to receive our response no later than 2 July 2024. We will
endeavour to respond sooner than this date if possible. If you no longer require this information,
please let us know.
You have the right to request an investigation and review of Fire and Emergency’s decision to
extend the timeframe by the Ombudsman. Information about how to make a complaint is
