What is the current budget per person for hospital meals? 
 
Response 
 
Health NZ does not budget meals on a cost per patient basis. To adequately respond to your 
request would require us to calculate this based on total costs/budgets and patients over a set 
period. Due to the substantial nature of this exercise, we are refusing your request under section 
18(f) of the Act, substantial collation and research.  
 
While not exactly what asked, we hope you find the following breakdown of last financial year’s
