Official  Information  Act  request  relating  to  New  Zealand  Coordinated  Incident 
Management System 
 
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on 14 May 2024. 
You requested: 
 
“I am following the development and implementation of the NZ Coordinated Incident 
Management System (CIMS) with considerable concern as to its direction. Under the 
provisions of the Official Information Act request copies of the minutes of the CIMS 
Steering Committee meeting held in the period 1 July 2022 to 1 July 2024.” 
 
I am unable to provide any meeting minutes for the Coordinated Incident Management System 
Steering Committee as the Steering Committee went into abeyance in 2019. Therefore, your 
request is refused under section 18(e) of the Act, as the documents requested do not exist.  
 
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision under section 
28(3) of the Act. 
 
We  do  not  intend  to  publish  this  response  on  the  Department  of  the  Prime  Minister  and 
Cabinet’s website.
