Thank you for your Official Information Act request, received on 13 May 2024. You 
requested: 
Please can you provide the date for when NZTE was informed of its savings 
target?  
 
Note, this is not in relation to NZTE's 2023 COVID funding reduction, but 
specifically this relates to the savings targets that most agencies and 
departments were issued from December 2023 onwards. i.e. 6.5% or 7.5% etc. 
 
When did Treasury (or MBIE) provide the target to NZTE and what was the 
percentage (as above)? 
 
The Treasury did not provide a savings target to New Zealand Trade and Enterprise 
(NZTE). Treasury did not issue savings targets or requirements directly to Crown 
entities. The Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment was responsible for 
communicating its expectations for entity savings to the Crown entities it is responsible 
for, including NZTE.
