Re: Permits issued for filming in Auckland
I refer to your email, which we received on 29 April 2015, requesting information about
permits issued for filming in Auckland, and to your clarification of your request on 6 May
2015.
You requested the dates and applicants for any permit issued for Taylor's Bay Reserve/Bluff
Terrace in Hillsborough from 1 January 2014 onwards.
Screen Auckland, a team within Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development
(ATEED), manages the application and processing of film permits on Auckland Council
owned public open space.
There was only one film permit issued for filming on public open space at Taylors Bay Road
Reserve and no permits issued for filming on public open space at Bluff Terrace from
January 2014 to the date of your LGOIMA request.
The film permit was issued to South Seas Film and Television School, for a short film called
Coral. The permit was issued for 07/11/2014 from 7am until midnight.
If any filming took place in the Taylors Bay Road Reserve or Bluff Terrace area from 1
January 2014 then that filming was not permitted by Screen Auckland, on behalf of Auckland
Council.

Should you believe Auckland Council has not responded appropriately to your request, you
have the right by way of complaint, under section 27(3) of the LGOIMA, to apply to the
Ombudsmen to seek an investigation and review of the decision.
