: [FYI request #26651 email] Dear Hugh,
I refer to your request, transferred to my office on 19 June 2024, which has been
considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA). Your request and my
response are below:
•
Please name where the nomination for Ms Jannita Pilisi was made. […] was
it a caucus nomination?
•
Please provide all correspondence relating to [Ms Jannita Pilisi’s recent CNZ
Board Member appointment].
All correspondence held by my Office relating to the appointment of Jannita Pilisi to
the Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa Board has been provided to you
previously, specifically on 27 June 2024, and is publicly available on the FYI.org.nz
website at:
https://fyi.org.nz/request/26651-creative-nz-appointment. In this
documentation, you can see that a Longlist of suitable candidates for this
appointment was provided to me by Manatū Taonga on 19 December 2023, in which
Jannita Pilisi was presented as a candidate.
Therefore, I have decided to refuse your request under section 18(d) of the OIA – as
the information requested is publicly available.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available via
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
Yours sincerely
Hon Paul Goldsmith
Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage
