[FYI request #26568 email]
Dear Paul Zhao
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA), received on 30
April 2024. You requested the following:
Do you have a direct email address for people to report tax evasion, if they prefer to not
use your form on your website or call you?
What is that direct email address?
I have interpreted your request to be for a direct email address that the public can use to
anonymously provide information to Inland Revenue on tax evasion or fraud.
Generally, there are several ways a customer can give report suspected tax evasion to Inland
Revenue, outlined below:
• Inland Revenue’s website
(ird.govt.nz) - this is Inland Revenue’s preferred method of
submission,
• Via phone on Inland Revenue’s dedicated anonymous phone line 0800 225 610 or on one
of the general 0800 numbers,
• Via an in-person meeting,
• Write to Inland Revenue at:
Inland Revenue
Anonymous Information
PO Box 39010
Wellington Mail Centre
Lower Hutt 5045
When the above methods for reporting are not suitable, customers can email Inland Revenue at
[email address]. Please note, Inland Revenue prefers that suspected tax
evasion is reported via the above channels.
Thank you again for your request.
Yours sincerely
