INFORMATION REQUEST
On 11 April 2024 you asked for information about access to Kinloch Way. Here is our response
to your questions:
I live on Kinloch Way which is a private way my question is, What rights do/did
you have to build a public access cycle/ walkway to allow the public to access
Kinloch Way which is private? I questioned this 3 years ago with the council and
was told it would be looked into but with no result.

We  have  reviewed  the  area  and  we  are  unaware  of  any  formal  cycle  way  through
Kinloch  Way.  We  recognise  this  is  a  private  accessway.  Some  members  in  the
community may be unaware this is a private accessway and may be utilising the areas
through Kinloch Way, along the state highway to the reserve or vice versa.
As  the  land  adjacent  to  Kinloch  Way  is  under  the  jurisdiction  of  Waka  Kotahi  New
Zealand Transport Agency, we have referred the matter to them to look into.
If you are not happy with this response you have the right to seek an investigation and
review by the Ombudsman. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
This response may be published on our website, all personal information will be removed.
If you have any questions about this letter, please contact me.
