Request made under the Official Information Act 1982 
 
Thank you for your email of 26 March 2024 requesting the following information under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
[…] all information regarding the ministerial instruction to cease work on raised crossings. 
Including but not limited to any related discussions and correspondence, and the list of 
cancelled projects. 
 
The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days 
after the day we received your request. Unfortunately, it wil  not be possible to meet that time limit and 
we are therefore writing to notify you that we are extending the 20-working-day time limit as allowed 
for under section 15A of the Act. We need 7 more working days to respond to your request. We wil  
send you our response on or before 7 May 2024. 
 
This extension is necessary because consultations are necessary to make a decision on your request 
and a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit. 
 
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to complain to the Ombudsman about the extension. 
More information about the Ombudsman is available online at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
