Dear panel members

I am aware that I last emailed you 11 January indicating that I would be back in contact regarding
ACC’s long term plans in relation to the External Medical Panel.

Since that time the senior clinical and claims management leadership has considered the role of1982
the EMP within the context of the new ACC clinical services model which came into effect
November 2018. Our consideration included various factors including a developing resource
within the new clinical services model of wider specialty expertise, a more focussed Act
organisational approach to long-term claims and seeking external expertise if required on a more
case-by-case basis. As a result a decision has been made to discontinue the External Medical
Panel.

On behalf of ACC we wish to thank you very much for your work on the Panel. We appreciate the
expertise you brought and of course continue to bring, the significant time commitment and
mostly that you were assisting ACC claimants and staff to progress complex, difficult issues.

Information
We look forward to the various other interactions we are likely to have given your involvement
with treating and supporting patients who are ACC claimants.

Regards
