I refer to your email dated 16 March 2024, requesting the following under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
“May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for
public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website.
Also, how many applications you have received from the public and how many you
have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc
for your role. How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed.
What is the fees for this Chairperson role.”
The original timeframe for responding to your request was 16 April 2024. This was extended
to 19 April 2024 in accordance with section 15A(1)(b) of the Act.
The table below outlines the Ministry of Transport’s (the Ministry) response to each part of
your request. Please note that the Minister of Transport is responsible for appointing the
New Zealand Transport Agency Chair and the Ministry facilitates the appointments process
on his behalf.

Communities and Whaikaha – Ministry of Disabled People.
The Minister of Transport also sought nominations from his caucus
colleagues and coalition partners.
