RESPONSE TO AN OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST (REF: DOIA050-2023/24)
On 14 March 2024, you contacted the Ministry for Pacific Peoples (the Ministry) requesting under
the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA), information relating to nominations for the Pacific
Business Trust (PBT) Board. I have outlined your requests and my responses below.
1. I noted you have call for nomination for the Pacific Business Trust Board. May I ask how
you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for public nominations
e.g. govt.jobs website.
The Ministry has publicly advertised nominations for the PBT Board on SEEK, LinkedIn, our
website and within our nominations database.
2. Also, how many applications you have received from the public and how many you have
received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for your
board member/ trustee role.
3. Also, how many vacancy you had in total and when you anticipate the process wil finish.
There is currently one board member vacancy on the PBT Board. The Ministry received 32
applications via public advertising channels and no nominations from the nominating agencies,
Te Puni Kōkiri, Ministry for Women, Ministry for Ethnic Communities, or Ministry of Disabled
People. We anticipate that the process will be completed by July 2024.
In line with standard OIA practice, the Ministry proactively publishes some of its responses to
OIA requests. As such, this letter may be published on the Ministry for Pacific Peoples’ website.
Your personal details will be removed, and the Ministry will not publish any information that would
identify you or your organisation.
Should you wish to discuss this response with us, please feel free to contact the Ministry at:
[email address].
