OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST 24.17 Ethnicity Statistics

I refer to the Official Information Act (the Act) request dated 8 March 2024 for information relating to student
ethnicities at the University of Canterbury (UC). You have specifical y requested:

•  I would like to request a breakdown of students by ethnicity at the University of Canterbury.

•  It may be broken down into European, Asian, Māori, Paciﬁc, Middle Eastern, Other, etc.

Please see overleaf for your requested information. The information is correct as of 10 March 2024. Ethnicity
information is self-reported by students at enrolment. Please note that the Equivalent Ful  Time Student (EFTS)
number takes into consideration those students that study part time. The headcount is the physical number of
students.

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about
