[FYI request #25972 email]
Dear Sarah,
Thank you for your Of icial Information Act (OIA) request, received on 27 March 2024. You
requested:
I request you hold my request and grant the request once the English led review is in
the public domain. Consider this a further Official Information Request.
I also make the following additional OIA request. How many Treasury personnel have
worked on or assisted on the review of Kainga Ora? Approximately how many hours of
Treasury staff time has such work taken?
As noted in our email dated 28th March 2024, the Treasury is unable to hold your OIA request
and consider it once the review has been completed. You wil need to submit a new OIA for
this information, once the review has been completed.
The Treasury supported the Independent Review of Kāinga Ora, led by Sir Bill English, as
part of the secretariat. Seven permanent Treasury personnel directly worked on or assisted
the Review at various stages, performing different roles and to varying degrees.
The Treasury does not use timesheets, and Treasury personnel work on a number of
projects in any given week. Given this, we are not able to robustly estimate the number of
hours that were dedicated to the Review by the relevant personnel. I am therefore refusing
this part of your request under section 18(g) of the OIA because the information is not held.
Please note that this let er (with your personal details removed) and enclosed documents
may be published on the Treasury website.
This reply addresses the information you requested. You have the right to ask the
Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision.
Yours sincerely
Glen Thomson
