Thank you for your email dated 27 February 2024, in which you requested information about 
upgrades on the Montana Trail. The specific details of your request and our response are 
below. 
  a)  What was the total cost of upgrading the Montana Trail in the Waitakere Ranges 
including helicopter costs and the cost of disposing of rubbish and old track 
components? 
 
The below table shows the costs for upgrading the Montana Trail between July 2021 and 
October 2023. The red line on the attached map shows the area of track that was upgraded.
