Thank you for your email of 27 February 2024 to the Ministry of Businesss, Innovation and Employment

May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call for public
nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. Also, how many applications you have received from the
public and how many you have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry
of women etc. How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed. Also, what
is the pay rate for the board.”
I have considered your request under the Act.
The Council member who left the Board filled a role that is nominated by Engineering New Zealand
(ENZ). In accordance with the legislative requirements (50(1)(a) of the Chartered Professional Engineers
Act 2002) nominations from ENZ were requested.
ENZ nominated the candidate Megan Neill who was subsequently shortlisted, interviewed and
appointed by the Minister.
Two existing members (Sandra Dee Hardie and Alan Winwood) were also reappointed by the Minister.
There were no applications received from the public as there was no public application process for
either the appointment or reappointments.
The current pay rate for the Council is under the Cabinet fees framework, with a daily rate of $624 for
the Chair, $493 for the Deputy Chair, and $395 for a member.
