Thank you for your request of 20 February 2024, to Fire and Emergency New Zealand requesting 
the following: 
 
1.  Please can I request the CAD Incident Report for: F3914792, 14th February 2024, 
Christchurch 
 
2.  Can you also include the names of any outside organisations that may have assisted on 
scene, be that with catering, consultants or fire attack etc. 
 
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) and our response 
is below. 
 
We can advise that Fire and Emergency’s investigation into the incident is still in progress. For this 
reason, the requested information is being withheld pursuant to section 6(c) of the OIA, as the 
making available of that information would be likely to prejudice the maintenance of the law, 
including the prevention, investigation, and detection of offences, and the right to a fair trial. 
 
In respect of question two, we have determined that the release of this information would not 
have a prejudicial impact on our investigation. Therefore, please find attached, as Appendix 1 to 
this response, the list of outside organisations who assisted on scene for this incident. 
 
This reply addresses the information you requested. You have the right, by way of complaint under 
section 28(3) of the OIA, to request an investigation and review of Fire and Emergency’s decision 
to refuse information by the Ombudsman. Information about how to make a complaint is available
