We refer to your request dated 11 March 2015 under the Official Information Act 1982 and received in 
our office on 12 March 2015 requesting the following information relating to Canterbury District Health 
Board: 
 
1.  How many staff have accepted gifts from the pharmaceutical industry in any form or nature? 
2.  What  is  the  level  of  influence  of  the  pharmaceutical  industry  on  the  New  Zealand  medical 
profession? 
3.  What is the relationship between your DHB and the pharmaceutical industry? 
 
As required under the Official Information Act 1982, the Canterbury District Health Board will respond 
to your request within 20 working days.  You should receive a response on or before 13 April 2015. 
 
If a large amount of information has been requested or if the Canterbury District Health Board needs to 
consult in order to make a decision, we may need to extend this date (this is provided for in section 15A 
of the Act).  We will advise you if such an extension is necessary.
