Official information request regarding Disability Services staff 
 
I refer to your request for information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) 
dated 11 February 2024: 
 
“Can you provide the current number of permanent staff with disabilities within 
Te Amaru - Disability Services.” 
 
The University actively includes lived experience of disability when recruiting for roles 
within Te Amaru-Disability Services, alongside key skills, education and experience 
relevant to the role. 
 
Staff members provide information regarding their disabilities to the University on a 
confidential basis. Therefore, further information is withheld in accordance with s9(2)(a) 
of the Act in order to protect the privacy of natural persons and s9(2)(ba)(i) of the Act in 
order to protect information which is subject to an obligation of confidence and making 
available of the information would be likely to prejudice the supply of similar 
information. 
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of the
