We refer to your email dated 8 February 2024 (your Request) requesting information 
under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). TVNZ’s Response to your Request is 
set out below.  
Request: Please provide a copy of the policies and procedures that TVNZ fol ows in 
order to make its editorial choices. 
Response: The relevant sections of TVNZ’s News and Current Affairs Handbook are 
attached. Please note that this Handbook is currently undergoing review.  
In addition, in 2023 TVNZ undertook a review into its editorial controls. That is publicly 
available online at https://corporate.tvnz.co.nz/reports/. 
As you may know, if you are dissatisfied with this response,  section 28 of the Act 
provides you with the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman in order to seek 
an investigation and review.
