I refer to your information request dated 7 February 2024 made under the Official Information Act 
1982 (the Act). You have requested mark and grade distributions for the Semester 2 2023 Health 
Sciences First Year (HSFY) papers offered by the University of Otago. 
 
Subject to the following comments, please see attached the information you have requested.  
 
•  the data is correct as at 14 February 2024. 
 
•  the attached data is limited to students specifically enrolled in the HSFY programme only. 
Students enrolled in these papers as part of other degree programmes (e.g., a Bachelor of 
Science) are excluded from the data. 
 
•  in the attached grade and mark distributions, we note that students who withdrew from the 
papers are excluded from the data.
