Official information request for Citizenship Ceremony Information 
I refer to your official information request dated 7 February 2024 for the currently scheduled 
citizenship ceremony dates and the capacities of each ceremony along with the number of 
people currently on the citizenship ceremony waitlist.  
We can confirm that the current dates for all future ceremonies here in Christchurch that are 
already booked in are:  
•  26 February 2024,  
•  25 March 2024, and  
•  29 April 2024 
We have transferred part of your request to the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA). Part of 
the information to which your request relates, namely the capacities of each ceremony and the 
number of people currently on the citizenship ceremony waitlist is not information held by us 
but is believed to be held by the Department of Internal Affairs. In these circumstances, we are 
required by section 12 of the LGOIMA to transfer your request. 
You will hear further from the Department of Internal Affairs concerning that part of your 
request.
