Response to your request for official information
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of
Health – Manatū Hauora (the Ministry) on 7 March 2024 as a follow up to information provided
to you under reference: H202435836. You requested:
“Please provide the advice on the errors to Treasury and Dr Ayesha Verral as described
in your last email.”
No formal advice (ie, in the form of a briefing or memo) was provided to the former Minister of
Health, Dr Ayesha Verrall regarding the errors in the ‘Improving Access to Primary Care for
Transgender and Non-Binary people’ Budget bid. As such, your request is refused under
section 18(e) of the Act. However, this matter was noted by the Ministry as part of its
consultation with the Minister's office

The Minister's office and the Treasury were informed of the errors in the Budget bid through
phone calls from the relevant Ministry officials.
